-
1 pound ground beef (85/15)
-
1 yellow onion, diced (reserve some for topping)
-
1 green bell pepper (or any color), diced
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
-
1 (15-oz) mild or hot chili beans
-
1 oz packet of chili seasoning
-
1 tablespoon brown sugar
-
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
For the Hot Dogs:
-
8 jumbo all-beef hot dogs
-
8 hot dog buns
-
Medium cheddar cheese, shredded
-
1 can nacho cheese heated
-
Green onion chives
-
Smoked pulled pork already done (check our online guide out)
Directions:
-
Preheat Your Smoker
Set your smoker to 275°F using pecan or hickory wood for a bold, balanced smoke. -
Start the Chili Base
Heat olive oil in a smoker-safe pot or cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
Add most of the diced onion (reserve some for topping) and bell pepper. Sauté 3–5 minutes until softened. -
Add Pulled Pork
Add the smoked pulled pork, breaking up any large chunks. -
Sauce & Season
Stir in crushed tomatoes, chili seasoning chili beans, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and Holy Smokers Hickory Bacon Burger Rub.
Taste and adjust seasoning with more rub if needed. -
Smoke the Chili
Place the pot or skillet directly on the smoker grates, uncovered.
Smoke for 25–30 minutes to let the chili soak in that smoky richness. -
Grill the Dogs (Optional)
Toss hot dogs on the smoker or grill during the last 10–15 minutes for added bite and flavor. -
Build the Ultimate Pulled Pork Chili Dog
Toast buns, place a hot dog inside, then load it up with smoked pulled pork & chili.
Top with reserved diced onion, shredded cheddar, nacho cheese, & sliced green chives.
Holy Smokers Pro Tip:
For even more BBQ goodness, drizzle a little BBQ sauce over the top before serving. It’s messy. It’s bold. It’s worth it.
